🍭🍭🍭🍭
It’s hard to make it as a witch in Candiopolis, the land of sweets. Everyone expects curses and child-eating, but all Tara wants is to bring joy to the kingdom with her magical confectionary. But a girl has to make a living, so when a noble lady begs for a curse to strike down a promiscuous lover, Tara sells the lady what she desires.

But as a witch gets back what she puts into the world, so does the curse come back to haunt Tara’s gingerbread doorstep. The prince himself has become the target of the curse, and he’s turning into a candy cane – from his most sensitive area out – and he demands a cure.

Tara’s used to turning sour things sweet. If she can cure the prince, she might redeem the reputation of witches everywhere, and it doesn’t hurt that the prince himself is the hottest man in all Candiopolis.

It won’t be easy, though. Tara must brave the candy forests and marshes, confront wild monsters, deal with a vampire who wants to make her his, and navigate the most dangerous thing of all.

Falling in love.

The humorous romantasy contains spice with a side of candy cane, bitter enemies to sweet lovers, only one ginger-bed, and a prince who will kill anyone who touches his woman.

I hadn’t thought much to what this book would bring…I knew a tiny bit of the plot but dived in for what I hoped would be a fun read. Having finished? It was a REALLY good read! The characters and the dynamic was fun. The evolution of the relationships/interaction between the main characters and even secondary made the story itself interesting at each part. I’ll avoid spoiling the plot secrets or ruin any moments – that’s not my way… What I can say? I liked it…so much I hope we can revisit this world. I wanna know what happens to the secondary characters? I wanna know if there’s more adventures for our Witch & Prince? Erin Bedford has a way to giving us a great story, simple – yet complex enough to keep you interested in each chapter. The bonus? The world we get in a single novel always leaves us wanting more of the world she creates….this book does all this. While I’ve enjoyed many books by this author over this years…this little novel just has this feeling of simply GOOD story that I feel comes from a passion of the author’s that is a gift to us readers. So to make this long review short: I totally recommend reading if you enjoy fun, cheeky humour, adventure and a dash of love. Oh…and who wouldn’t feel like something peppermint after finishing this yummy story! 😉

I enjoyed this story with a sweet twist to the typical fairy tale. Fun characters, interesting plot and scenes that made me laugh out loud. A bit dark, steamy, and candy are involved in the fun. The 2 main characters were a riot. Enjoyed it all.

  3. Coffeereadsleeprepeat

Great quick read about the granddaughter of the witch from Hansel and Gretel. Tara just wants to make candy and give out curses, but when the prince is on the receiving end of one, what will happen? I loved the story and path that these characters went on. I was quickly hooked into the story and couldn’t stop reading. I really hope that we get more stories from these characters.

I didn’t really expect it to be this way and don’t get it wrong, it’s FABULOUS. The chemistry between Tara and William was everything and I couldn’t wait to get the deed scenes which were above all my expectations. William went from wanting to do nothing with her because she was a “lower being” to wanting to spend his life with her and ‘convince’ her that they were meant to be together (as if she needed that much convincing, but girl, I get it).

  5. Michalle

This was a fun and fast paced story. I loved the reference to Hansel and Gretel. Tara and William had the chemistry and banter was great. A must read if you like a sweet story that will put a smile on your face.

  6. Brenda

This is a well written book with a cast of strong characters and an interesting storyline. The author does a great job building the story and kept me glued to the pages. She brings humor along with the romance and paints her scenes perfectly moving the story fluidly. I enjoyed and would recommend this book.

  7. Mckenna25

This is the first book I have read with vampires, wolves and witches and I loved it! Would love to read more of their story!

  8. Ashleear

Fairytale retelling for the next generation ??. Loved the spice, the thrill, adventure, and fantasy. Comical and funny while also being spicy. Slow burn with enemies to lovers and one bed…lots of fun stuff in this story. Worth the build ?????? Loved it!!

I’m usually really strict with my review copies. I have to know for at least 90% certain that I am gonna like the book. I have to admit that in this case I wasn’t too sure. Mostly because when a dick turned into a candy cane is the main plot point I get a little afraid that it’s gonna be the only plot point combined with a lot of sex. But I trust Erin Bedford. I trust that she can write something hilarious and fun and still give it a little more. So, I grabbed my copy from BookSprout and dove in. I was not expecting to read this book in one sitting. It was such an entertaining and easy read that I flew through it and before I knew it I had reached the end of the book. And yes, the candy dick was the main plot point. And yes, there was quite some sex in this book. And yet I did feel that there was also this little bit more. Mostly because as a reader you actually do know that this is more than “just” sex. This is sex with feelings. I also really enjoyed both main characters in this story. Of course it’s clear that deep down they actually like each other from the start. I guess the prince kinda enjoyed someone talking back to him and having to work to get some romantic attention for once. And secretly our witch does enjoy his arrogance and confidence. But I most of all liked how they also dared to confront each other with fears, worries and doubts. The ending of the book felt a little rushed. I’m normally not a big fan of epilogues that don’t really add much to the story, but in this case I would have loved that extra chapter to see for myself that we were leaving both characters in a good place. However, I did love that the last few chapters of the book totally fitted our prince and witch, who they are and how they handle each other. I’m pretty sure the kingdom is gonna have quite some trouble with these two in the future. Speaking of the future: This book screams for spin-offs starring the side characters we met in this book. I really hope Bedford is willing to revisit the world to tell us their stories!

a witch finds herself in more than one sticky situation after selling a simple curse to a young lady life in Candiopolis can be very sweet – or bittersweet if you find yourself scorned by a horny prince Hansel and Gretl meets Don Juan, with humorous twists and candy coated finale

  12. Noelle

So good! Such a fun twist on the witches and the witch from Hansel and Gretel. I’d say it’s gotta enemies to lovers with our witch and prince. So you will get some nice LOL moments but also some spicy times! Def want more from this universe.

  13. SweetSpell

It’s a fairytale for adults, written in a fairytale land setting. There’s a witch, a cursed Prince, a challenging journey and lessons to be learned. Sprinkle in some comedy, some smeggsy scenes, a pretty good storyline and you’ve got a quick and enjoyable story to pass the time with. It was definitely different and unique. You’ll find a little bit of: ?????????????? ???? ???????????? ????????-???????? ?????????????? ??????

  14. Titleswtyler

Fairytale retelling aren’t my thing but I saw this book and decided to take a chance and wow I wasn’t disappointed. This author knows how to make a fairytale book both realistic and fantasy like all in one go. I was captivated by not only the plot but by the chapters as well. I adored how Tara was written and I loved William even though he wasn’t team Tara at first. This book was both steamy and funny but perfectly blended that it keeps you reading and forgetting you have other things to do.

  15. C.J.

The author has given us a wonderful story that pulls us into the lives of Tara, witch, and Prince William. The story takes us to a Fairy Tale World with humor, paranormals, humans and steam

  16. Kim W

My Gingerbread Ever After by Erin Bedford is a good, and enjoyable fantasy enemies to lover slow burn romantic comedy read. The story has a good story line. The characters are good, and they have good chemistry. This is a really fun read.

  17. Amanda

Absolutely loved this book and the characters. Such an amazing retelling story especially for the Prince ???? I hope the author make’s stories like this and hopefully it’s going to be Bianca next

  18. Th0rn

We have a witch who created the open curse, a prince, a vampire, a shapeshifter, other witches. Was a mix of fantasy with fairytale vibes. A candy forest , vampire who rules over liquorice swamp. If you want a quick, easy, angst enemies to loves vibe, some spice. Set in candy land, where the prince gets cursed with a candy cane d*ck, this is worth picking up, also great for prompt for halloween or xmas.

  19. Joyce M. H.

This is an entertaining, fast-paced easy quick read, witty, page turner, steamy, romantic, action-packed great characters with an enjoyable plot. I enjoyed reading about the Tara the witch who is selling curses and she finds herself helping out William the prince. These two are so cute and their camaraderie is so funny. This is one book by Erin Bedford that you will want to read.

  20. Babs

Prince William and with Tara’s story was fun to read as they try to correct the curse put on him. I enjoyed seeing them get their happy ending and everything they went through to get it.

  21. Ashley

I love Erin Bedford and even when the story plot sounded a little bizarre I knew it was going to be a good read! Bedford always manages to take something like a candy cane ahem and make it the most hilarious story you’ve read in a while. A witch and a prince what could go wrong! This will make you laugh and you won’t want to stop reading until the end. The end…..that I think could spin off into more and I hope it does because this was just a great escape!

  22. Cleocutie

Fun take on a classic fairytale. The villain, or-in this case- the granddaughter of the villain- gets a say and a chance to redeem herself in this book.

  23. Book_Lover_97

Very fun and very creative story! It has cheeky humor, banter, and tension this is a quick read with an easy, fast pace. I enjoyed the Hansel and Gretel references.

  24. Lbing

This was such a fun and funny read…and yet still had great spice ;P This fast paced story was full of great banter, magic and steam. I loved the Hansel and Gretel references and hope we get more stories set in this world ;D

  25. Vivian C

Once again Ms. Bedford delivered just what I needed. There was just enough sugar and spice to make this a very sweet read.

  26. Alister

This was simply brilliant! A well written, fast paced, laugh out loud, hilarious fantasy read that I was absolutely glued to. It’s a highly entertaining, magical, quick read that was sexy and sassy with a touch of snark that was a lot of fun to read.

  27. Ash

I absolutely bloody loved this book! At first, it sounded like crack, but then the comedy began and I couldn’t help but laugh and want more of everything. I loved this book so, so, so fucking much that you won’t believe it. Note about me: I only swear in a review if it’s a book I’m 100% passionate about, so you have to know that this book was utter perfection.

The banter, the chemistry, the filthy, filthy tongue William had, the dialogues, Percy the shifter, Bianca’s and Tara’s friendship, everything was just beautifully done. I loved the lore woven into this story, and I can’t help but want more fairytale erotic romances from this author. I’m definitely going to be on the lookout for more books from Erin Bedford.

  28. Jennifer

A really different but fun fairytale. It combined so many different tales together in a unique way. I really enjoyed reading this romance.

  29. LisaH

    Candy cane…

Well. That’s one inventive curse, let me tell you. But William totally deserved it. He’s a shallow manho. Tara was pretty cool about it all. She’s a candy maker and witch. William is a brat.
Fun and silly with body parts.

  30. MistytoDawn

Very funny and entertaining story. I swear I laughed so much that I couldn’t stop reading. The prince and the witch definitely had an interesting start to make it that much better in the end.

  31. Jennifer

This is a fairy tale fantasy romance. It’s a tasty fun spicy read. Shorter than most of the author’s books but still a good read.

  32. Annalisa

This is definitely one talented author who can spin a tale like no other. It’s a ridiculously funny but hot story filled with humor, witchiness and magic. I loved the wit and snark. It was surely an afternoon full of fun with this lovely and steamy book. I haven’t read anything like it before. I loved it.

  33. Arydia

I was so intrigued when I first heard about this book. This was a great book to read. If you are into weird eggplants, this is the book for you. I was smiling almost the entire time I read it.

  34. ChrisL

Like entertainment? This book will will make you laugh, but of cours a lot os sex. You can skip that, but it might not be as much fun. So follow Tara and William’s story.

  35. Karen S

This fun and engaging storyline is fast-paced, well-written, and filled with humor, and chemistry, The main characters are developed, argue, but it takes a while to admit they like each other. This is an entertaining, and enjoyable read.

  36. Talarah

This book was a fun quick read that didn’t take up any headspace. It was a quirky, full of corny lines, cheesy romance and all the things you want when you don’t want to be bogged down.

My Gingerbread Ever After by Erin Bedford.
    A Fairy Tale Fantasy Romance.
Ever since my grandma ate those kids, witches have had a bad reputation.
    My plan?
    1. Make a candy store
    2. Provide curses for scorned women
    3. Get yelled at by cursed prince
That last one I didn’t plan and now I had to run all over the candy forest to change the prince’s… ahem… back to normal.
A good read. Loved the story. 4*

  39. Michelle

This is a fun read and I loved the candy cane twist. Once I started reading I didn’t put it down until the final page. From the great writing to the fun and quirky characters, this is a great read. I sure hope we get more books from this crazy fun world.

  40. Charlie24

My Gingerbread Ever After is a completely nutty load of laughable fun. When a curse that Witch – Tara (FMC) sells to a buyer to get even with her boyfriend turns a certain part of his body into a Candy Cane she ends up with an irate Prince William on her doorstep looking for retribution from her. Which leads them both on a caper to cure him of his problem with lots of laughs on the way as well as some steam too.

I really loved the dynamic Tara & William had. It made this book for me. It was a knockout read. Im curious about Bianca and Percy now?

  41. Patricia
