I don’t get to watch a lot of television. Mainly because I have a full time job and a toddler who only allows me to watch shows that sing or involve some kind of talking animal. But when I do get the rare chance to watch something it is usually one of two shows.

Doctor Who and Game of Thrones.

**WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD!*

So everyone who knows what Doctor Who is knows the internet is blowing up about the announcement of the new Doctor. If you don’t know or never watched it then you need to hop on Netflix and catch up! But really, there is a lot of whining going on around the new Doctor. Which if we were honest, happens every time they switch.

This time though everyone is acting like the world is ending because dear god they made him a woman!

I have no problem with the Doctor being a woman. The master changed into a woman it would only make sense that eventually the Doctor would too. What I do have a problem with is if they make it a big troupe the entire series. The Doctor’s a woman but it’s still the Doctor, you don’t have to make it all about periods and hormones. Keep the Doctor’s basic personality and objectives the same and I think most people will be fine with it. Of course, we will still get the random odd balls who refuse to accept it but oh well they can go watch something else.

Enough about that.

Game of Thrones started last night. And if you watched the first episode you will hopefully be in the same mind set as me and being thinking what the hell did I just watch?

Really! This episode was pretty much a recap and besides the cameo of Ed Sheeran nothing really happened at all. I mean Daenerys was in it for a whole three minutes at the very end of the episode and she had one line! One! Three freaking words the whole episode.

I honestly could have skipped episode one and not have missed a thing. Wait. I lied. Sam finding out where the dragon glass was is pretty important but the rest. Meh.

Hopefully the rest of the series makes up for the lackluster season premier but just like Doctor Who we will have to see what the writers have in store for us.
